In August 2019, 35 recalls were announced via the EU Rapex system, which affected 54 models of 22 brands. Four recalls were issued by Mazda, while three by Volkswagen. BMW, Ford, Honda, Chrysler, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Opel and Toyota had two actions each. At least one recall was reported by Audi, Dacia, Dodge, Fiat, Kia, Lancia, Land Rover, Lexus, Porsche, Seat, and Skoda.
The most common reasons for a recall:
- Airbags – Dacia, Dodge, Honda, Chrysler, Jeep, Mazda, Seat
- Risk of Fire – BMW, Ford, Kia, Volkswagen
- Suspension Fault – Chrysler, Lancia, Mazda, Opel, Porsche
- Seat Mounting – Mercedes-Benz, Škoda, Volkswagen
- Electronics – Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Opel
- Brakes – Lexus, Toyota
