Volkswagen to recall more than 400,000 cars over rear seatbelt problem

The outer rear seat-belts may be incorrectly routed at the anchor point. In case of a frontal collision, this could lead to a higher load than that for which the belt system is designed, or allow the passenger to slip underneath the seat-belt.

The recall affects Model year 2018 vehicles.

The seat belt retractor internal car sensor may not function as intended. In the event of an accident, the retractors could fail to lock and in such circumstances the seatbelt would not restrain the occupant.
