67 recalls for 21 Mercedes-Benz models in 2021
Mercedes-Benz has announced 67 recalls in 2021 through the Rapex system, affecting 21 of its models.
The most recalled Mercedes model in 2021 was the Sprinter van. Two of the eleven recalls concerned its electric eSprinter version, similar to the smaller Vito van.
Nine recalls were issued for Mercedes’ flagship S-Class. Only one less for the popular GLC SUV and the C-Class. The order continues with the E-Class with seven and the A-Class with six recalls.
Towards the end of the year, there was news about an upcoming significant action by Mercedes over a faulty EGR valve for almost 850,000 cars. This recall does not yet appear in the Rapex system and is therefore not counted in the 2021 statistics. Information about it can be found in the link to the article below.
All the recalls, sorted by model, are listed in the tables below.
We have written about some of the faults in the following articles.
- Nearly 850,000 Mercedes diesels at risk of fire due to faulty EGR valve
- Mercedes-Benz recalls nearly 115,000 older cars for software manipulation
- Mercedes and Jeep recall tens of thousands of cars over fire risk (week 20/21)
- Mercedes recalls almost 290,000 cars due to the risk of fire (week 10/21)
