Stellantis recalls Citroen, Peugeot and Opel vans for (not only) rear brakes issue (week 38/22)

This week’s recalls:
– Citroen, Peugeot, Opel – rear brakes
– Peugeot 208, 2008, Expert, Traveller – risk of fire

Five recalls for 10 models of three carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 38th week of 2022.

Citroën and Opel have one recall each, while Peugeot has announced three – see the table at the end of the article.

The rear brake may be faulty on 369 Citroen Jumpy and Citroen Spacetourer vans built between 20 and 28 January 2022. Stellantis also reports the same fault on 328 related Peugeot Expert and Traveller vans and 457 Opel Vivaro and Zafira Life vans. The service brake may lose effectiveness and increase the risk of an accident. Numerous older recalls of the aforementioned French vans can be found by clicking on the model name above.

Peugeot also recalls 561 cars from the Expert, Traveller, 208 and 2008 model ranges due to a possible fault in the high-voltage wiring harness. Cars with production dates in March and April 2022 are at increased fire risk.

With 31,157 Peugeot 208s built between August and November 2021, the fuel line may come into contact with other components. If it were damaged, fuel would leak, increasing the fire risk. We wrote about this recall a week ago in our article Peugeot recall due to door opening and fire risk.

Details on this week’s recalls can be found in the table below.

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.

Do you know the year Your car was made? You most likely don't.
