Opel recalls older Insignia while Toyota ProAce vans (week 8/22)

This week recalls:
– Opel Insignia – rear track rods
– Toyota ProAce – window defogger, emissions
– Mercedes AMG GT – wiring harness

Four recalls for three models of three brands were announced via Rapex in the 8th week of 2022.

Two recalls have been announced by Toyota, while Mercedes-Benz and Opel have one recall each – see table at the end of the article.

The rear track rods may break due to corrosion on Opel Insignia manufactured between December 2007 and July 2013. 571,942 vehicles may be affected, and Car-Recalls.eu reported on this recall in advance in early February in an article Opel recalls over half a million older Insignias for tie rods corrosion.

Two recalls were announced this week by Toyota for ProAce vans. The first is for cars built from June 2016 to May 2017. The rear window defogger may not work properly due to an incorrectly fixed cable. The second is for vehicles made between July 2018 and June 2021. Due to an error in the specific software for calibration of the electronic engine control unit (ECU), an incorrect value is provided when the vehicle processes the data.

Mercedes is recalling the 598 AMG GT Black Series manufactured between October 2019 and December 2021. The length of the wiring harness of the front wheel speed sensors might be inadequate in these cars, and there is a risk of damage to the wiring harness in certain driving manoeuvres such as full steering wheel angle or full compression/rebound of the suspension.

Details on this week’s recalls can be found in the table below.
