Fire risk with BMW electric vehicle and Fiat Hybrid (week 42/22)

This week’s recalls:
– BMW i3, Fiat 500 – fire risk
– Citroen – fire risk
– Mercedes, Land Rover – powertrain
– Mercedes, Jeep – airbag

Nine recalls for 12 models of seven carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 42nd week of 2022.

Mercedes-Benz has announced three recalls, while Bentley, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Jeep, and Land Rover have one each – see the table at the end of the article.

Faulty production of high-voltage batteries may lead to high-voltage cell modules overheating, which increases the risk of fire with BMW i3s manufactured from October 2018 to August 2021. There is also a fire risk due to a broken circuit in the electrical connection of the auxiliary battery with the Fiat 500 Hybrid produced between January 26 and June 3, 2022. You can also check out the other EV/Hybrids recalls.

Other models being recalled this week due to fire risk are the Citroens C4, Jumpy and Spacetourer, which may have a faulty high-voltage wiring harness. The 427 cars built in March and April 2022 are recalled.

The classic Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Class off-roads are recalled due to axle and Cardan shaft problems. Mercedes and Jeep also recall for airbags issues. Nearly 8,500 2020-2022 Bentley Bentayga SUVs may have poorly fastened rear seats.

Details on this week’s recalls can be found in the table below.

You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.
