Citroen, DS, Peugeot: Diesel particulate filter can overheat and crack (week 7/23)

– Citroën C4 Picasso, C5 Aircross – DPF
– DS7 Crossback – DPF
– Mercedes EQE – airbag

Three recalls for 8 models of four carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 7th week of 2023. One more recall was announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Citroën, DS Automobiles, Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot each have a recall in Rapex – see the table at the end of the article. Through the KBA, the Dodge is recalling pickup truck RAM.

The diesel particulate filter can overheat on several French models equipped with a 2-litre diesel engine. Cracks in the DPF can develop in nearly 36,000 Citroen C4 Picasso and C5 Aircross, as well as more than 25,000 DS7 Crossback SUVs. Also, 43,462 Peugeot 308s, 3008s, 508s and 5008s have the same problem. A week ago, a Peugeot 208 was recalled because of poorly tightened locking nuts of the steering tie rods.

Nearly 4,000 Mercedes EQEs built between March and August 2022 may not correctly deploy the upper B-pillar airbag, increasing the risk of injury in an accident.

KBA Recalls

Worldwide, 1,372,027 Dodge RAMs manufactured from 2018 to 2022 are being recalled to the workshop. The reason is misaligned tailgate strikers. As a result, the tailgate can open while driving and unsecured cargo can fall into the traffic area.
