18 recalls for 13 Citroen & DS models in 2020
In 2020, Citroen announced eighteen recall for thirteen models through the EU Rapex system.
More than 530,000 Peugeot and Citroëns are involved in the recall due to possible strong abrasion of the timing belt and the consequent damage to the vacuum pump and brake booster with the 1.2-litre PSA petrol engines. There are over 160,000 owners of a Citroën Berlingo, C3, C3 Picasso, C4, C4 Cactus, C4 Picasso, DS3 and DS4 for an unscheduled workshop visit. The cars rolled off the assembly line between March 2013 and April 2017
Another major problem of the PSA Group’s cars in 2020 was the mounting of the rear axle or a defect in the steering column.
Citroën announced nine recall for Jumpy/Spacetourer vans and, as in previous years, these are some of the most recalled cars again. The Citroëns Berlingo, C3 and DS7 Crossback had four recalls each.
