Among small SUVs, the latest-generation Honda HR-V and the current Mazda CX-3 are the most reliable, according to the What Car survey. At least for the last year. British owners gave both a 100 per cent rating. Behind them in third place, with an overall score of 98.9 per cent, was the Citroën C3 Aircross. Six per cent of them had a defect and were always in the exhaust area.
The least reliable small SUVs
The least reliable in this category is the Vauxhall (Opel) Mokka X, the petrol Nissan Juke and the last generation Peugeot 2008. The most common problems with the Mokka were with the air conditioning and navigation, but owners also reported faults with the fuel system, transmission or clutch, or steering. With the Nissan Juke, the main problems were the battery and bodywork.
Peugeot 2008 owners complained most often about the cost and length of repairs. Over 60 per cent of cars spent up to a week in the shop, 13 per cent even more. The suspension was the most common problem, but also the brakes, battery, navigation or the engine and its electrics.
