Overview of the recalls in the 9th week of 2024
Three recalls for five models of three makes were issued via EU Safety Gate in week 9 of 2024. Six recalls for eight models were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
One recall can be found in the European Safety Gate system at Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
Ford, Honda, Kia, Nissan, Opel and Renault are all issuing recalls via the KBA.

Kia Soul EV can move on its own when charging
If the Kia Soul EV is charging and the parking brake is not manually applied, unintentional movement may occur even if the gear lever is in the parking position. Nearly 40,000 cars manufactured between November 2013 and November 2018 are at risk of injury and accident.
The Porsche Taycan may have faulty cells in the high-voltage battery that could lead to a short circuit and cause a fire with 858 cars manufactured between September 18, 2020 and June 22, 2023.
Fire risk at Mercedes
Over 75,000 Mercedes may have an improperly attached 48V ground cable bolt in the engine compartment. This could increase the electrical transient resistance at the connection point, and excessive heating would increase the fire risk. The recall affects the E-Class, CLS and four-door AMG GT classes from 2021 to 2023.
Osram withdraws starter batteries
Due to quality issues, Osram is recalling BATTERYstart 260 and RING Fast Charge Jump Starter 260 lithium starter batteries. It has also previously recalled the BATTERYstart 360. More information and a recall form can be found in this article.
