Alfa-Romeo-Tonale-recall

Alfa Romeo, Citroen and Chrysler recalls; six more announced by German KBA (week 13/23)

This week’s recalls:
– Alfa Romeo Tonale – fire risk
– Chrysler Pacifica – fire risk
– Citroen C5 X – untightened wheels

Three recalls for three models of three carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 13th week of 2023. A further six actions have been published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Alfa Romeo, Citroen and Chrysler have one recall each at Rapex – see the table at the end of the article. Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot and Skoda are also recalling through KBA.

The lighting, warning system, power steering and brake assist can all fail in Alfa Romeo Tonale due to faulty wiring under the vehicle’s floor. There is a risk of a crash with 607 cars manufactured between September 2022 and February 2023.

Citroens C5 X could leave the production line in the second half of 2021 with an inadequately tightened left front wheel.

Individually imported US cars

US versions of the 2016-2018 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV may have a problem with the high-voltage battery, which can suddenly ignite and pose a fire hazard. In Europe, the recall applies only to individually imported and registered cars.

Other KBA Recalls

Over half a million cars are recalled by Skoda Auto because of driver airbags. Eight models from 2012 to 2017 may be affected. Mercedes-Benz has announced three recalls and two actions can be found on the KBA list for Peugeot.

We also recently published an article German Dekra: These are the most and least reliable cars in 100,000 km tests.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.

Do you know the year Your car was made? You most likely don't.
