9 recalls for 4 Jeep models in 2019

In 2019, Jeep announced 9 recalls through the EU Rapex system, involving 4 models. The Cherokee and Wrangler were the most recalled models.

We’ve sorted all 2019 recalls according to the model into a table below.

The brake pistons incorrect coating can result in the formation of gas in the hydraulic system of the Cherokee and Compass models manufactured from March to June 2018. With the Cherokee made in November and December 2018, the bolts on the passenger seat may not have been tightened to the required torque. The Compass from the second half of 2017 may have a defective rear seat’s lock mechanism.

The Wranglers manufactured between May and August 2018 may have badly located welds on the front track bar bracket. With right-hand Wranglers from the same period, a fixing nut on the steering shaft may become loose.

Some Jeep models also appeared in another mass recall action. However, it’s rather a recall for fire extinguishers, so we did not include it in our archive. It can be found on the Rapex website under the code A12/0280/19.

For completeness we are also adding models concerned: Compass (MK) 2007~2017, Wrangler (JK) 2007~2018, Liberty (KK) 2008~2012, Commander (XK) 2009~2009, Grand Cherokee (WK) 2009~2018, Cherokee (KL) 2014~2019, Compass (M6) 2017~2017, Compass (MP) 2017~2018, Wrangler (JL) 2018~2018, Grand Cherokee (WG) 2004~2004, Wrangler (TJ) 2004~2006, Liberty (KJ) 2004~2007, Grand Cherokee (WH) 2005~2009, Commander (XH) 2006~2009, Patriot (MK) 2007~2017.
