Takata airbags again
Takata’s seemingly endless series of airbag-themed recalls brought another episode this week. Toyota is recalling several older models from 1999 to 2017 via Safety Gate, while the German KBA database contains new recalls for over a half million Citroen C3s built between 2009 and 2017 and also for 86,000 Skodas of eight model series with production years 2012 to 2014. In this case, it appears to be an addition to the recall for 580,000 Skodas with the original 69DU code, which we wrote about in April 2023. The original article also includes a link to the Skoda Auto website, where you can check the Takata recalls by your car’s VIN code. We also recently reported on a large airbag recall for several 2009 and 2010 Seat models.
HV batteries in Stellantis cars
The software in the battery management unit is unable to detect certain types of faults with the Citroen C5 Aircross, DS7 Crossbak and Peugeot 3008 and 508. In these cars, there may be a fault in the high-voltage battery that can lead to overheating. This increases the risk of fire.
Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.
