The German Automobile Club ADAC Reliability Index for 2024 rates 156 models of 20 car manufacturers between three and ten years old, of which at least 7,000 have been registered in Germany in some period between 2014 and 2021. The ADAC Reliability Index is calculated from the number of Yellow Angel roadside assistances per 1,000 registered vehicles.
As the table below shows, the Toyota C-HR (pictured) performed the worst in the compact/lower-midsize class, having above-average failure rates across all production years evaluated. We also see frequent assistance calls for the 2014 Ford Focus, 2020-2021 Ford Kuga, 2019 Mazda 3, 2019 Nissan Qashqai, 2015 Renault Kadjar, 2015-2016 Renault Mégane and 2018-2019 Renault Scénic.
On the other hand, the cars where green is the predominant colour in the table should have significantly fewer problems that would necessitate a call to roadside assistance.
