Incorrect wheel alignment with Peugeot and Citroen, risk of fire with Renault (week 35/20)

This week’s recalls:
– Citroën, Peugeot – wheel alignment
– Renault – fuel line
– Mercedes-Benz – ESP

4 recalls for 8 models were issued by four carmakers in the 35th week of 2020 through the Rapex system. Citroën, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, and Renault announced one recall each.

The wheel alignment of the front axle may be incorrect with the Citroën C3 and the Peugeot 208 with a production date between 26 August 2019 to 18 March 2020. This may result in unstable road handling of the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident.

The fuel line damage may occur with the Renault Megane, Scenic, and Talisman models manufactured from September 2018 to June 2019. As a result, fuel may leak onto the road, posing a risk to the following traffic. Furthermore, fuel leakage on hot parts of the exhaust system will increase the risk of the vehicle catching fire.

With the Mercedes AMG C-Class, GLS, and AMG GT, the ESP control unit software may not meet specifications. This can cause the ESP system to be unable to respond as intended to a possible drift of the yaw rate sensor or to a failure of the brake vacuum supply. As a result, the ESP intervention may be inappropriate to the driving situation, increasing the risk of an accident.

See the table below for all the recalls from this week.

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.

Do you know the year Your car was made? You most likely don't.
