The defective parking brake with Mitsubishi; fire risk with Suzuki and Lamborghini (week 15/21)

This week recalls:
– Mitsubishi ASX, Outlander – parking brake
– Lamborghini, Suzuki – risk of fire
– Mercedes A-Class, CLA – Isofix

Four recalls of four manufacturers were issued for six models in the 15th week of 2021 through the Rapex system. Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, and Suzuki announced one recall each.

The Fluorine anti-rust coating of the ramp shaft for the rear parking brake may peel off with the 2015 Mitsubishi ASX model, as well as the larger 2016 Outlander and Outlander PHEV models. This would allow water to penetrate inside and rust the shaft and the internal calliper, causing decreased parking brake force.

Suzuki Ignis manufactured between 1 July 2020 and 30 October 2020 may have a poorly welded fuel tank breather pipe. As a result, fuel may leak out when the fuel tank is filled to the top, increasing fire risk.

More than 10,000 Lamborghini Urus SUVs manufactured between July 2017, and July 2020 are also in danger of fire. Due to a poorly fitted quick connector on the fuel supply pipe, fuel leaks may occur.

With approximately 2,800 A-Class and CLA Mercedes, the right-hand bracket on the right-hand rear seat designed to attach the child seat to the ISOFIX anchor point may be missing.

See the table below for all the recalls from this week.

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.
