In 2018, Lexus announced 6 recalls that affected 8 of its models, according to the Rapex notifications. How to check your VIN for free to see if any of them is also relevant to your car?
The first Lexus recall in 2018 was announced in February with the CT200h model due to a possible fuel leak from a badly welded tank. This fault may occur in vehicles manufactured between 21 November 2016 and 7 April 2017.
In the second month, the Lexus NX300h, RX450h and RC-F were also recalled. The first two, manufactured in 2015, due to airbag system pressure sensor failure, while with the RC-F from June 2014 to December 2017, the pulsation damper in one of the high-pressure fuel pumps could be defective. Fuel leakage and fire could even occur.
Fuel leakage can also occur due to a crack in the fuel pulsation damper with all the GS350 and GS450h models produced between 2005 and 2014 (!).
An unpleasant surprise can be experienced by the LC500h sports coupe driver when the hybrid system suddenly turns off while driving in a highway mode. This may be caused by an improperly programmed control unit with cars manufactured from August 2016 to July 2018.
