In 2018, Jeep announced 6 recalls that affected 3 of its models, according to the Rapex notifications. How to check your VIN for free to see if any of them is also relevant to your car?
Four of the six recalls announced in 2018 by Jeep were related to its single model – the Jeep Compass. In February it was because of the securing nuts on the front passenger airbag that may be loose (production 8/2017 – 11/2017) and three more recalls came out in the 10th month.
Compasses manufactured in January 2018 may have a badly welded front transverse arm. With cars manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017, the daytime running lights could be badly connected. From October 2017 to February 2018, the Compasses with a faulty rear seatback lock mechanism were produced.
The other two recalls were announced for Jeep Liberty. Corrosion of the rear transverse arms may cause them to break with cars manufactured between 4/2003 and 6/2007. For vehicles from 2011 to 2013, there may be an internal fault in the control module for the occupant restraint controller. The same defect occurs with the Jeep Cherokee from the same period.
