Six recalls for seven Mitsubishi models
Mitsubishi has announced six recalls in 2021 through the Rapex system, affecting seven of its models.
Several Mitsubishi models were recalled due to a malfunction in the Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) controller software, which can falsely detect the risk of a potential collision. The system could trigger emergency braking without warning. The recall affects more than 214,000 vehicles from 2016 to 2021.
Two Mitsubishi models may also experience windshield cracks due to overheating of the heater’s electrical terminal. The 2016 Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander may also have an issue with the parking brake. Four older models have been recalled due to Takata airbags.
All the recalls, sorted by model, are listed in the tables below.
We have written about some of the faults in the following articles.
- Mitsubishi may suddenly brake due to a falsely detected possible collision (week 25/21)
- The defective parking brake with Mitsubishi; fire risk with Suzuki and Lamborghini (week 15/21)
