Reliability according to TÜV Report 2024 (2 – 3 years)
Last update 26. 11. 2024
TÜV Report 2024 for two- and three-year old cars produced in 2020 and 2021 with links to recalls*.
VW Golf Sportsvan wins in two age groups in the 2024 TÜV report. Unfortunately, since mid-2020, Volkswagen has no longer offered this model. The Audi Q2 and Audi TT round out the top three positions. In addition to the German makes, the Mitsubishi ASX, the Toyota RAV4 and the Suzuki Vitara are among the ten cars with the fewest breakdowns.
Even a global trendsetter, the Tesla Model 3 (pictured) has to face reality. Above all, axle suspensions and brake discs pull the electric star down. Tesla fared even worse than the penultimate Dacia Logan. Among the ten worst cars aged two to three years, we find two Skodas, an Opel, a Ford and a Seat, in addition to several Dacias.
The TÜV Report includes all main technical inspection results from all TÜV companies in Germany – 10,2 million technical inspections (TIs) from July 2022 to June 2023. In addition to the percentage of failed TIs, it also tracks the average number of kilometres driven. It says nothing about the care and maintenance that owners give to their cars.
