Peugeot 508 and 3008: Water penetration can lead to a vehicle fire

Peugeot is recalling 42,296 vehicles of the 508 and 3008 models from the production period 2019 to 2023 to the workshop worldwide. The measure is due to water penetration, which can lead to rusting through the battery reinforcement and the battery box. This can lead to a battery or vehicle fire in the worst case.

The corrosion protection of the battery pack is improved in the workshop. The KBA is investigating the measure under the reference number “012665“, and the manufacturer’s internal code is “MA5“.
