Overview of the recalls in 37th week of 2023
Eight recalls for 14 models of five carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 37th week of 2023. Two more recalls were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
Jeep, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota have two recalls this week, while BMW and Volvo have one recall each at Rapex.
Audi and Bentley are also recalling through the KBA.

Rear springs and steering column on Jeep
The rear coil springs may be defective and may have detached while driving with 354,208 Jeep Grand Cherokees manufactured between December 2020 and May 2023. Jeep is also recalling Grand Cherokees for a defective steering column. Nearly 100,000 cars with production dates between January 27, 2021 and April 4, 2023 may be affected.
Fire risk at Mercedes and Volvo
The fuse box in the engine compartment could be defective with 1,822 Mercedes S-Classes from 2020 to 2022. Overheating and fire risk could occur.
There is also a fire risk with 58,245 Volvo V60, S60 and XC40 model years 2022 and 2023. In this case, the O-ring used to seal the joints in the oil line is defective and has an insufficient diameter. This could lead to the O-ring twisting and then breaking, which can cause an oil leak, increasing the risk of fire.
