Japanese recalls: Honda CR-V at risk of fire; defective pump with Suzuki Jimny (week 14/24)

This week’s recalls:
– Honda CR-V – fire risk
– Suzuki Jimny – fuel pump
– Stellantis Vans – gearbox

Overview of the recalls in the 14th week of 2024

Five recalls for nine models of eight manufacturers were issued via EU Safety Gate in week 14 of 2024. Three recalls for four models were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

BMW, Citroen, Ford, Land Rover, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Toyota have one each in the European Safety Gate system.

Honda, Jeep and Suzuki are issuing recalls via the KBA.

Two Japanese recalls

Both new recalls for Japanese makes were found in the German KBA database this week. Honda is recalling 427,382 hybrid variants of the CR-Vs manufactured between 2018 and 2022 to authorized service centers worldwide. The reason for the recall is a missing fuse on the battery cable, which could lead to a fire in the event of an accident. Suzuki is recalling 21,353 Jimny vehicles produced between 2018 and 2019. The fuel pump impeller can become deformed and blocked, which would stop the fuel supply and cause engine failure.

Stellantis vans with 4×4 drive

A faulty seal can cause the front gearbox to leak oil, which can lead to gearbox failure and rear wheel lockup. Citroen Berlingo, Opel Combo, Peugeot Partner and Toyota Proace City all-wheel drive vans from 2019-2021 may be affected.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.
