Fiat 500, Doblo, Scudo and Ulysse recalls (week 43/23)

This week’s recalls:
– Fiat 500 – ball joint
– Fiat Doblo – tyres
– Fiat Scudo and Ulysse – AdBlue

Overview of the recalls in 43rd week of 2023

Six recalls for 10 models of four carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 43rd week of 2023. Two more recalls were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Fiat has announced three recalls this week, with Citroen, Opel and Peugeot each having one in Rapex.

Land Rover and Renault are also recalling through the KBA.

Three Fiat recalls

Over 5,000 Fiat 500s built between April and September 2023 may have a faulty front wheel ball joint, which could lead to a loss of control. On Fiat Doblo models from the production period 3 October 2022 – 15 March 2023, the maximum load on the factory-fitted tyres is less than the maximum permissible weight on the rear axle. Overloading the tyres can lead to tyre damage. Fiat Scudo and Ulysse vans are being recalled due to a urea injection fault. If this occurs, the driver will not be informed because the relevant warning light will not illuminate.

AdBlue problems with French vans

As well as Fiat vans, other related models from Citroen, Opel and Peugeot are also being recalled for the third time – see table below. We wrote about Stellantis’ urea problems back in July in our article Peugeot and Citroen problems with AdBlue; Consumer organisations call for an investigation and no-cost fix for customers.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.
