4 recalls for 11 Ferrari models in 2019

In 2019, Ferrari announced four recalls involving 11 models through the the EU Rapex system. The GTC4 (3) were the most recalled model this year.

Three Ferrari recalls were related to the safety of the crew, one was issued due to the risk of fire.

The fuel vapour separator, providing fuel to the engine, may be defective with the 488 (GTB, Spider, Pista, Pista Spider), GTC4 (Lusso, Lusso T) and 812 Superfast models manufactured between October 2017 to October 2018. As a consequence fuel could evaporate and lead to a fire.

Tip: Check the vehicle’s history by VIN

The layout of the Bowden cable creates tension on the door locking mechanism with the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso and GTC4 Lusso T manufactured between November 2015 and December 2018. This could cause the cable retaining slot to break, which would prevent the door from being opened using the external handle.

The other two recalls relate to airbags or their control unit. The Rapex Alert A12/0922/19 doesn’t show production dates, but only the VIN range.
