Overview of the recalls in the 20th week of 2025

Two recalls for two models of two brands were published via EU Safety Gate in week 20 of 2025. Five recalls for 15 models of five brands were released by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

McLaren and Kia each have one recall in the European Safety Gate system this week.

Cadillac, Chevroletc, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan are recalling via the KBA.

Falling windows and spoilers

The following review was inspired by this week’s recall for 163 McLaren 765LT Coupes, where a badly bonded rear window can fall off while driving. We don’t think McLaren has too many people in the garage, so we searched our archives and found other recalls for much more affordable cars that also had issues with windows, panoramic roofs, or spoilers falling off. The range of cars affected is really varied — judge for yourself…

In some cases, the reason for the recall is the risk of being pinched by a window or a roof…

…or other bodywork parts falling off…

…and also sometimes the risk of fire…

If you are interested in other recalls relating to the exterior parts of vehicles, you will find them under the bodywork tag.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the German KBA recalls in the following articles:

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
