25 recalls for 15 Volkswagen models in 2021
Volkswagen has announced 25 recalls in 2021 through the Rapex system, affecting fifteen of its models.
Seven recalls were announced by Volkswagen for the Tiguan SUV. The 25,000 cars from 2015 to 2019 may have insufficiently affixed rear spoiler; it can become detached from the vehicle and fall onto the road. 32,000 Tiguans from roughly the same time period may have a defective locking pin in the towbar swivel mechanism that could break while driving.
The Tiguan was also the subject of a major recall for 38,000 cars due to a poorly welded brake pedal footplate. The same fault is also found with the VW Golf 8, Golf 7, e-Golf 7, Touran, Golf Sportsvan and T-Roc.
Volkswagen has recalled nearly 239,000 VW T6.1 vans due to water ingress into the doors and the subsequent risk of opening while driving. The first recalls can also be found for the electric ID.3 and ID.4 models.
