Four recalls for four Kia models in 2021


Kia has announced four recalls in 2021 through the Rapex system, affecting four of its models.

Kia‘s largest recall in 2021 was issued for the Sportage model with a production date between October 2015 and October 2020. A short circuit can occur in the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)/Electronic Stability Program (ESP) module. This could lead to an excessive current flow that can increase the risk of fire in the engine compartment. According to the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA), the recall affects 1,718,768 cars worldwide. A similar defect may occur with around 15,000 2018-2019 Kia Stingers.
