Smart issued two recalls affecting two of its models in 2017 according to the Rapex database. ForTwo and ForFour models were recalled twice. The oldest recall was for 2014 models.
The September’s 2017 recall was caused by issues with a hand brake cable assembly. The second recall came a month later because of the lack of strength of the left front steering knuckle. The knuckle could crack which would adversely affect the ability to control the vehicle. The relevant production years are shown in the link under each model.
