In 2017, Nissan announced 8 recalls across 11 of its models according to Rapex. The Qashqai, X-Trail, Navara, and Patrol were all recalled twice. The oldest cars recalled were the X-Trails and Patrols made in 2000.
A large part of Nissan’s recalls in 2017 were somewhat related to various airbag issues. The recalls did not only concern new models but mainly those which were older with the production year more than 15 years ago (see below).
And airbags were not the only problem. The Nissan Qashqai was recalled in August due to the possible chafing of the brake hose and in December due to a non-functional direction indicator lamp in the mirror.
The cause for 2013-2015 Muranos recalls was different – the power steering pressure hose could crack and make the power steering lose function. Nissan Navaras made between 2015 -2016 could have a faulty as well as a third brake light. The relevant production years are shown in the link under each model.
