In 2023, 283 recalls were reported to the Europe-wide Safety Gate (formerly Rapex) system for 249 models of 46 brands. As we do every year, we have published a detailed analysis with a ranking table by manufacturer and a detailed summary by model.

Some frequently recalled models may have multiple generations affected. Recalls for cars that are ten years old or older are no exception.
Often mentioned in this overview are the Stellantis group vehicles. The chart in our main article shows that the most recalled brands from this group in the top 10 (Citroën, DS, Opel and Peugeot) have an aggregate share of 28.9%, almost a third of all recalls announced.
