Volkswagen is recalling the Multivan T7 for airbags. Injuries and fire may occur

VW recalls Multivan T7 due to head airbag problems. Faulty fastenings can increase the risk of injury, and there is a risk of malfunction and fire hazards due to an improperly routed wiring harness.

Volkswagen has initiated a recall for the Multivan T7. Head airbags can be improperly attached and increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident. In addition, the wiring harness is routed incorrectly in the head airbag area, which can manifest itself in many ways, such as bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. A fire cannot also be ruled out.

According to the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA), the recall covers 7,896 vehicles manufactured between September 2021 and May 2022.

If necessary, the head airbag fasteners will be repaired at an authorised workshop. In addition, the wiring harness will be checked and, if necessary, additionally protected against mechanical damage.

The internal code for the recall is ‘69DP‘. According to the German authorities, no incidents involving damage to property or personal injury have occurred in this context.

This is the second recall for the new Multivan T7.
