Tyre problems may occur on DS, Opel and Mercedes (week 3/25)

This week’s recalls:
– DS, Opel, Mercedes-Benz – tyres
– Hyundai – fire
– Honda – fuel pump

Overview of the recalls in the 3rd week of 2025

Five recalls for seven models of four brands were published via EU Safety Gate in week 3 of 2025. Seven recalls for 11 models of five brands were published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

One recall each for DS Automobiles, Honda, Kia and Mercedes-Benz can be found in the European Safety Gate system this week.

DS Automobiles, Hyundai, Mazda, Opel and Peugeot are recalling via the KBA.

Defective tyres

During production testing of the braking system, the front axle tyres on two Stellantis models may have been damaged. The recall affects 1,584 Opel Mokka and 130 DS3 vehicles produced in 2024, which may experience a sudden loss of air pressure and loss of driving stability. A similar problem may also occur on 1,026 Mercedes GLBs with a production date of 17 June – 7 August 2024, which may suffer damage to the inner sidewall surface of the right side-mounted tyres.

Extended Hyundai recall

We reported on a possible short circuit in the ESP unit that could lead to a fire in several Hyundai models back in November 2024. The recall affected 222,637 Santa Fe, iX35, Veloster and i40 models from 2011 to 2014. This week, the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) issued the fourth phase of the recall, coded 41D091, for a further 251,422 Equus, H1, iX55 and Santa Fe cars built between 2007 and 2014.

Honda fuel pump again

Due to a manufacturing issue, engine vibration may cause cracking inside the high-pressure fuel pump. This could lead to fuel leaks and increase the risk of fire in Honda Civic, Honda ZR-V and Honda CR-V vehicles manufactured from October 2021 to August 2024. Last year’s similar recall for possible engine failure due to a faulty fuel pump affected more than three million Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Honda CR-V, Honda HR-V, Honda Jazz and Honda NSX vehicles from 2017 to 2020.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.
