Two RAM pickup recalls (steering column module and emissions)

Dodge is recalling 17,563 RAM 3500, RAM 2500 and Ram 1500 Pickup vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2023 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that an insufficient weld seam in the steering column control module can result in no trigger signal being sent to the driver’s airbag in the event of an accident.

In an authorised workshop, the steering column control module is replaced.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14040R“. The internal manufacturer code is “14B“.

The second recall is for 643,846 RAM 2500 and RAM 3500 pickups produced between 2012 and 2018. The recall is due to circumventing US emissions regulations by installing unauthorised defeat devices. The engine control software is updated in an authorised workshop.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “13516“. The internal manufacturer code is “67A“.
