Toyota Proace City: Limited E-Call function

Toyota is recalling 72,483 Proace City and Proace City Verso of the model years 2019 to 2022 to the workshop worldwide. The reason for the recall is a limitation of the E-Call function (autonomous telematics control unit (BTA)). In the worst case, this can lead to poor handling of the automatic callback by the call centre in the event of a call interruption (missing location coordinates).

As a corrective measure, the software of the telematics unit is updated Over the Air (OTA). In exceptional cases, the telematics unit will be replaced. In case of complications, a check in the workshop may be necessary.

The KBA monitors the measure under reference number “013094” and the internal manufacturer code is “CI23-024“.
