Skoda recalls 86,000 older cars of eight model lines for driver’s airbag

Skoda is recalling 85,988 Citigo, Fabia, Octavia, Praktik, Rapid, Roomster, Superb, and Yeti vehicles manufactured between 2012 and 2014 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is a fault in the gas generator of the driver’s airbag that can lead to uncontrolled deployment. The release of metal fragments can injure the occupants when the airbag is deployed.

In an authorised workshop, the driver’s airbag is replaced.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14025R“. The internal manufacturer code is “69KH“.
