The ADAC 2024 Reliability Index – City car / Mini-compact

Last update 05. 06. 2024

Every year, the German automobile club ADAC publishes a Reliability Index that rates the reliability of different car models based on the number of roadside assistance. The ADAC Index 2024 evaluates over 3.5 million “Yellow Angel” roadside assistance calls.

According to ADAC, among the smallest cars, the Suzuki Ignis is still the best choice in terms of reliability, with a very low number of unexpected breakdowns on the road. The Toyota Aygo is only slightly worse off but still in the green. The 2015 and 2016 model years, in particular, appear to be above average in reliability.

On the other hand, the 2017 and 2018 Smart ForFour are below-average reliable, and the Smart ForTwo isn’t much better either. You also need to be wary when looking at Hyundai i10s up to the 2018 model year. Three-year-old cars already seem like a better choice.

If you click on the name of the car, you will see its recalls.
