An incorrectly assembled design engine cover can become detached and come into contact with hot parts of the exhaust turbocharger, increasing the risk of the vehicle catching fire.

The Volkswagen Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport and Teramont (model name for the Chinese market) vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 20 July 2023 and 22 November 2024.
