The software in the battery management control unit cannot detect certain failure modes in the battery In the vehicles concerned there may be a defect in the high-voltage battery, which could lead to overheating. This increases the risk of fire in the vehicle.

The Peugeot 508 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 12 March 2019 and 28 April 2021.
