The welding of the fuel filler neck to the fuel container may not have been performed according to specifications. In such cases, fuel may leak through the welding, posing a risk to the following traffic and increasing the risk of fire.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE models affected by this recall were manufactured between 12 April 2019 and 29 June 2019.
