The structure of the airbag could rupture if it deploys, leading to fragmentation of the airbag parts. These small parts could be projected towards the driver/occupants, potentially causing serious or even fatal injuries.
The Lancia Thema vehicles affected by this recall with VINs from 2C3CLAAM1CH107669 to 2C3CLADM0CH224641 were manufactured between 3 August 2011 and 21 February 2012.
The manufacturer is requesting that users of the affected vehicles stop using them immediately.
