The wiring harness mounted under the bench seat can be damaged by being pinched by the seat hinge when it is folded down. This can lead the curtain airbag not to work, increasing the risk of injuries in the event of an accident.

The Hyundai Santa Fe MX5 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 14 March and 4 July 2024.
