Reason for the recall:
The Airbag Control Unit may detect a fault in the impact sensor. As a consequence, the airbag may not deploy properly during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Hyundai Kauai built between 9. 5. 2018 – 19. 12. 2018 are affected by this recall.
Note: Hyundai Kona is sold in Portugal as the Hyundai Kauai, as Kona is too similar to “cona”, the taboo slang word for the female genitalia in Portuguese – see more.
