Impurities in the brake fluid can lead to physical changes in the O-rings. Due to the damaged O-rings, brake fluid can penetrate into current-carrying areas (the ABS control board). This can lead to short circuits and fire.

The Hyundai Accent vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 26 May 2009 and 31 October 2014.
