Due to a faulty installation of the compression springs of the lock in the third seat row, the backrest may not be fully locked. This could lead to an increased risk of injury in the event of an accident.

The BMW X7 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 11 December 2018 and 3 February 2022.
