The driver or passenger airbag inflator may malfunction. In the event of an airbag activation this can lead to the release of fragments from the generator housing, increasing the risk of injury.
The BMW X6 and X6M vehicles affected by this recall were fitted with a front airbag manufactured by Takata and manufactured between 1 June 2006 and 25 June 2014.
