The rear wheels could lock with some Chevrolet models

Chevrolet is recalling 518,371 vehicles of the Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe model series manufactured between 2020 and 2022 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is an excessive wear in the transmission control module that can lead to pressure loss and damage to a control valve. As a result, the wheels on the rear axle could lock due to hard gear changes.

At an authorised workshop, new transmission control software is installed with monitoring functions and, if necessary, safety measures by limiting the number of gears.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14631R“. The internal manufacturer code is “N242454440“.
