Peugeot recall due to risk of door opening and fire

An increased risk of fire and the possibility of doors opening while driving are the reasons for recalls with more than 40,000 Peugeot 208 and 308.

More than 31,000 Peugeot 208s may have fuel lines installed that could be damaged by contact with other components. This could lead to fuel leaks and increased fire risk with cars manufactured between 5 August and 23 November 2021.

With the 13,535 Peugeot 308s, the doors could open while driving. “Defective sliding parts on the outer door handles could cause the doors not to close properly,” a spokeswoman for the Stellantis Deutschland confirmed to kfz-rueckrufe.de.

The same problem also affected 249 Opel Astra vehicles that left the factory between October 28, 2021, and January 27, 2022.

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact an dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.

Do you know the year Your car was made? You most likely don't.
