Opel Crossland X may burn, Hyundai Santa Fe with a steering problem (27/18)

Four models of three car manufacturers were recalled at the 27th week of 2018 through the Rapex system. Two recalls were announced by Opel, while Hyundai and Nissan had each one. The Rapex database also includes two new motorcycle recalls issued by BMW and Zero Motorcycles.

Opel recalls two of its SUV models with French roots. The larger Opel Grandland X, produced from June to September 2017, has a faulty sewing on the seat cover that can prevent the side airbags from deploying as planned. At the smaller Opel Crossland X, the wiring harness can get in contact with the bodywork and worn out. It concerns cars manufactured between 2016 and 2018, and a possible short circuit may also lead to a fire.

The Hyundais Santa Fe steering wheel assembly may break and become detached from the steering column. As a consequence, it would be impossible to steer the vehicle.

Nissan recalls Qashqai models to replace VIN code labels. On the original, the GCW (Gross Combination Weight) of the vehicle is incorrect, which could lead to the temptation to pull heavier trailers than allowed.

Motorcycles

The BMW G 310 R and the BMW G 310 GS side stand can be bent or broken. The American Zero S and Zero DS electric motorcycles have a problem with the contact between the battery casing and its mounting. This can result in damage to the casing and moisture to penetrate the battery, which can lead to a short circuit and a fire.
