No trigger signal to driver airbag with four Jeep models

Jeep is recalling 7,146 Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer and 9,211 Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles manufactured in 2023 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is an insufficient weld seam in the steering column control module that can result in no trigger signal being sent to the driver airbag in the event of an accident.

In an authorised workshop, the steering column control unit (SCCM) is checked and replaced if necessary.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference numbers “14185R” and “14214R“. The internal manufacturer codes are “36B” and “34B“.

You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.
